Sheet Music

I’m a newlywed, and I’m looking for sexy music to play while having sex. Ideas? I’d love to make a hot playlist on my ipod…. my husband and I love all sorts of music… slow stuff and upbeat stuff….
let me know please!!! Ideas would be helpful. 🙂

(The CN girls seemed to think that I should be the one to answer this e-mail for some reason.  Maybe it has something to do with how I spend my time sitting in a music note with head phones on. 😉 )

Music in the bedroom is one of my favorite things as I mentioned in my top 5 list last week.  Art in general is very subjective so what is considered “sexy” music to me may not be so “sexy” to someone else.  Most the time I find that my favorite musical artists translate nicely to the bedroom .  When it comes to picking mood music, I don’t have a certain criteria that it has to fit into.  Most the time my disposition is the basis for my musical choice which will enhance the outfit I wear and the type of sex that we’re going to have.  And my musical taste is all over the place:  At times it’s based on the music itself, at other times it’s based on the lyrics and there are many instances when it’s based on both.  But, since there wasn’t too much specified as far as types of music, I’ll go ahead and give you a run down on some of the different types of music that are used in my bedroom.

Here’s to listening and making beautiful music in the bedroom!

  1. I didnt see anything from the late Barry White. That always seems to get my wife going. How about Peabo Bryson? The point is there and were some great soul musicians whose music can add a romantic atmosphere to the bedroom Just my opinion from an older generation ( over 50)

  2. I like Barry White…it’s not just a generational thing. 8)

I have an extensive list that would make your head spin because I am all over the place with my tastes. Here is a short sample.

~Pour some Sugar on Me (Def Leppard)
    ~Sexual Healing (Marvin Gaye)
~To Make You Feel My Love (Garth Brooks)
    ~Chasing Cars (Snow Patrol)
    ~You’re My Best Friend (Queen)
~Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman? (Bryan Adams)

I love Phantom of the Opera too, Sugar and Spice.

  3. Another artist we really like is Six Pence None the Richer or Leigh Nash (same singer). Her most recent album, “Blue on Blue” has a lot of songs celebrating her love with her husband. Some of our favorite songs from this and her other albums are: “Kiss Me”, “Need to Be Next to You”, “There She Goes”, “Cloud Nine”, “Angel Tonight”, and “My Idea of Heaven”.

  4. For stripping -Gravitational pull-Chris LeDoux
    When ever wherever -Shakirra
    Leggs -ZZtop

Your body is a wonderland- John Meyer
Alabama- There’s 30 years so take your pick.
    Don Williams

We are rhaphapsody subscribers. It is a great deal. We get all kinds of stuff , what ever we’re in the mood for. They also have a really good selection for older stuff.

  5. what about something with no words?

Anyone have a suggestion for something with sensual drums or even other music with no vocals.

  6. You could try some of the instrumental smooth jazz stuff. That is very sensual to me.

  7. Try Enigma: Love Sensuality Devotion. You will not be disappointed.

  8. pretty much every song form the band “This will destroy you” but all it is, is instrumental… but it is very powerful… the kind you get passionate with…
here’s a link to one of their best songs….

    best song ever…

  9. Try the instrumental version of “Last Night” by Az Yet.

  10. Here are some of our favorites:

    1. Sade
    2. Aya (Amazon has her album, but if you go to your local store you might have to special order it)
    3. Gabriela Anders

For instrumental titles try searching for chillout/lounge music (usually considered within the “electronic” genre). There is an album called “Chillounge” that’s supposed to be good! Also, there’s a Website where I’ve ordered some lingerie (bellabellaboutique) that has a music section. You can look through their titles and descriptions and then find the CD’s on Amazon or half.com for much cheaper. The boutique has some CD’s that focus on tantra (which we’re not into) just so you’re aware. I hope this helps!! Music plays an important part in our intimate times!

  11. Sade is a staple for us. One can also access pandora .com and set up up their own custom “station” for whatever genre of music they enjoy.

  12. We love Sade also. I would add:

1.) All in Love is fair/Stevie Wonder
    2.) Secret/Maroon 5
    3.) A Song for You & Home/Michael Buble
    4.) Feelin Good/Nina Simone
5.) The Trouble with Love/Kelly Clarkson
6.) I’ve Got you under my skin/Diana Krall
    7.) Turn me On/Norah Jones
    8.) Love’s Divine/Seal
    9.) Private Dancer/Tina Turner
10.) Feelin Love/Paula Cole (probably the most erotic song I’ve ever heard!!!)

We used Pandora too. Good idea Dan P!!!

  13. Goodnesst there is so much sexy music out there! My husband and I really like soundtracks, Black Hawk Down (more mellow) and Fast and Furious (for something a little crazy and energetic). Also Honkin on Bobo by AeroSmith. And you must check out Hold Me in your Arms by The Trews for a good starter song. I hear it playing and it just makes me want to jump my man!

  14. There was once a movie starring Bo Derek called “10”, pretty well known if you older than 40. It featured a classical piece by Revel known as Bolero. It starts out soft and slow and then builds to a climax, if you know what I mean- some think that was Revels point in writing it. The Berlin Philharmonic has a 16 minute version.

  15. What about Rod Stewart??? MANY of his songs, and Natalie Merchant.

Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton is “our song” …. puts us in the “mood” every time!! 🙂

  16. Ladies, there is a shocking lack of The Beatles here! Just last night my DH reminded me how great Abbey Road is for getting in the mood. Though at least part of that appeal is probably from our personal history, I think She’s So Heavy/I Want You would work for anyone!

  17. ‘over the rhine’ has some great songs on their album called ‘the trumpet child’. here are some links: let’s spend the day in bed – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-TgCjhtDMY, trouble – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCDVbrg7PqA

  18. I actually came to suggest some music but see the topic has already been brought up. I simply love “Music For Tantric Sexuality” by Llewellyn It is slow, sexy and LONG playing with no big jumps and differences in your tempos. I sometimes listen to it while in the shower and then take the Ipod to the bedroom or as I call it, Love Nest, and keep it going. You can find it on Itunes.
Another favorite for getting into the mood and just teasing time is anything by Teddy Pendergrass. “Let’s Take A Shower” and “Close the Door” are two favorites.

  19. Michael Buble, anyone?
Some bookstores (and I’m sure you can find this online) have collections of romantic jazz and romantic classical if you were thinking mellow instrumentals. Great contributions! I’m going to have to look into some of these….
