  1. Yep…We were together for just 4 months…then my father who was & is still a Minister walked me down the ilse on Jan 14th 1977 and gave me away and then turn around and performed the ceremonial service, in a few months we will Celebrate being married for 34 wonderful years!!!

  2. The answer to this one is a bit hard to explain. 🙂 We met on a youth group mission trip where both our churches participated. I was from CO and he was from IL. We wrote letters as friends for two years and then he came to visit me for his 18th birthday. We realized then we were in love. 5 months later he sort of moved to CO to participate in a mission school and proposed a few weeks after the school began. After the school was over (5 months) he officially moved to CO. The time between his birthday visit and the wedding was 15 months. So, I’m not sure how long to say we dated. I picked 1-3 years but it wasn’t your typical dating relationship.

  3. We met on a Christian Dating Service (a site dedicated to Christians in Ministry) in January 2010. We had an instant connection! Both being a little older (OK, I’m almost 40 and he’s 40 something…) and involved in ministry be prayed together A LOT! Then in March we said.. “OK, either we’re going to committ to each other now and focus on marriage prep, or we call it off.” Let’s just say we both new this was TOTALLY of God so by the end of April I had a ring and we were off! On Septemer 19, 2010 we vowed our lives to one another in front of close friends and family. There’s nothing so beautiful as a courtship designed by God, especially when you’re both following the Spirit’s leading.

  4. We met originally through friends, one of his married one of mine and they tried to set us up. We actuallly did have on day together but after wards I was sort of “meh”. Flash forward two years and we meet again at a helath club. From that point on we were together. That was July of 88. We were married in May of 90.

Things have always been pretty darned good but thanks to you spice girls they are now red hot. Who knew that after 20 years of marriage we would be like newlyweds again!

  5. September 19th 2009 is our wedding date!…..Hubby and I dated for 14 months and were engaged for 4……so 18 months total from the time of our first date. Love him to pieces!!!!

  6. we dated for 7 months and were engaged for 8 monhs, we met on a Christian website, we corresponded for a month by email and telephone before we every saw each other or met, i knew after all our conversations we had to meet. Once we met up we started dating and within 2 months we started talking about and planning marriage my good friend thought I was crazy. However, we had prayed a lot and we knew that this was God’s plan

  7. My husband and I dated for 6 weeks before getting engaged and then 3 months later we got married. We just celebrated our 12th year together in September. We were both pretty young too, I was 19 and he was 22. However we weren’t Christians when we got married, we took that journey together a little over a year ago!

  8. We dated for 2 1/2 years before getting engaged, and then were engaged for 1 1/2 years, so 4 years total. High-school sweethearts. We’ve been together since I was 16.

  9. My husband and I dated for 10 months. We were 2 months into our dating and my husband wrote a letter to my dad asking for my hand in marriage. 🙂 We were engaged for another 17 months (long-distance), total of 27 months or 2 years and 3 months of courtship.

  10. my dh and i only saw each other 2 times b4 we got married. hird time was the charm and I became his wife ❤

  11. Wow, it seems like most of the commenters had very short “pre-marriage” periods! My husband and I dated for three years before getting engaged, and then had a super-short (less than three months) engagement. I wouldn’t change a thing!

  12. my dh and i were very close friends for 4 years before we started dating, dated for 6 months and then were engaged for 3 months. the engagement would have probably been even shorter but he went on a 2 month mission trip right after we got engaged. we knew so much about each other and knew each other so well that once it became romantic it didn’t take us very long to realize that we never wanted to be apart again!

  13. My DH and I met the first time in April, 2nd time in July and 3rd time in Sept. when he asked me out. Dated 2 weeks then he told me I would marry him. We did 4 months later in 1995. I don’t recommend such a short time but looking back, it was what God had designed for us (and we crammed a lot of talk in those few short months, staying up until 2, 3, or 4am on my parents front lawn).
