I assume Australia is subsumed under the Asia category? 😉 Though on days like this, Antarctica feels closer! 🙂
What about the Pacific? Fiji, Samoa, Cook Islands and Papua New Guinea may be small (generally english speaking) nations but what about Australia & New Zealand. Australia for example, has a population of over 26 million and land mass roughly the same size of the USA. Antarctica? Come on. How do you Skip Australia and go straight to Antarctica? Try Oceania or the Pacific or even Asia/Pacific as some like to package it. Do they not teach anything about the would outside North America in schools there? Obviously no one is taught how to read a map?
There is absolutely no reason to be rude about this. When I created the poll, I thought I had added it in there, but it was an oversight on my part. The poll has been edited, but it takes some time for the new poll to come up and yes, Australia and surrounding islands will be on it.
Be nice please. No one intentionally skipped the Pacific. As a social studies teacher I can tell you that yes we teach about the whole world “here”
